Parish Council statement regarding the proposed construction of an anaerobic digester by Ixora Energy
We are aware of the recent concerns raised within our community regarding the proposed construction of an anaerobic digester by Ixora Energy near our village.
As part of our role, the Parish Council has undertaken a research process to understand this issue thoroughly. This includes a recent meeting with Ixora Energy during which we discussed feedback from the first public consultation that they held in July.
The council specifically raised the community's concerns that we have received about potential odour, increased traffic, and safety issues. Ixora had clearly understood the extent of public concern from the first consultation and indicated they were undertaking further work on these matters.
Ixora Energy also updated us on their planning process and timeline. They are currently working towards submitting a full planning application, with the goal of doing so by October. Before the application is submitted, Ixora Energy plans to hold a second public consultation, which is also likely to take place in October, although this date is still subject to change.
We want to emphasize that we are actively working to ensure all public concerns are considered throughout this process. As always, we encourage residents to stay engaged and share their views. You can continue to reach out to us via email or attend upcoming Parish Council meetings.
Thank you for your continued involvement and commitment to our community.
Sincerely,
Nether Broughton & Old Dalby Parish Council
